World TB Day 2026 Observed at TB Control Program Peshawar

World TB Day 2026 was observed at Provincial TB Control Program Hayatabad Medical Complex with an awareness walk organized by the Provincial TB Control Program in collaboration with partner organizations including the Association for Community Development and Greenstar Social Marketing. Health professionals staff and community members participated in the event to highlight the ongoing threat of tuberculosis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the need for collective action. The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. Muddasser Shahzad Project Director TB Control Program Khyber Pakhtunkhwa emphasized the importance of saving lives and called on all participants to act as ambassadors for TB awareness. He stressed that tuberculosis remains a significant public health challenge requiring coordinated efforts. Dr. Akmal Naveed Director of the Association for Community Development, highlighted key field interventions such as contact screening outreach visits, and chest camps and emphasized the role of social media in expanding awareness. The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to strengthen efforts toward a TB-free future.
